Recently the media – and doctors & psychologists – have been calling attention to one depressive symptom that has always been missed: The Impossible Task.  It’s random and different for each individual with depressive, whether folding laundry, doing bills, catching up on work – no matter how simple or complex, it just seems impossible to do it.  The worst thing about it is that it doesn’t make sense to anyone, including the person with depression – and we frequently beat ourselves up over it.  Author Molly Backes’s answer is the best one: “Be gentle to yourself.”
